When employing the segmental treatment, the therapist normally injects Procaine or Lidocaine subcutaneously in a wheal formation under the skin, which then disperses into the tissues. Or, it is injected into the ganglia in the area of the corresponding Head’s areas of the viscera. Head’s areas or zones refer to the area of skin exhibiting reflex hyperesthesia and hyperalgesia due to visceral disease. With this treatment, a beneficial influence is exerted on the autonomic nervous system in the segment affected.
